Program Description
Event Details
Geocaching is the world’s largest treasure hunting game. Over 3 million cleverly hidden containers called geocaches are hidden all over the world just waiting to be found. Geocaches come in all shapes and sizes. Some will be large reusable containers, others will be micro canisters the size of your fingernail. What’s inside depends on many things, especially the size of the geocache, but there should always be a log for you to sign. In larger geocaches, you can find items to trade or trackables, meant to move from geocache to geocache. Learn more here.
Did you know that the library has its very own geocache? There are also several others hidden close by! In this program we will learn about the hobby of geocaching and then try to find the 3 geocaches that are closest to the library.
Program will include between 1 and 1.5 miles of walking (all on flat terrain). Please wear comfortable, close-toed shoes. You are welcome to bring small items to trade (stickers, novelty erasers, or pins are a good choice). We will also provide some trading items.
All ages welcome. No registration required. Meet at the outdoor pavilion.
