Event Details
There are always special activities set up around the library for kids and tweens. Though they are posted as an event on the first of the month, these activities will be available all month long (while supplies last), and require no registration. Next time you're in the kids section, keep an eye open for what we have to offer!
The Drawing Board:
Visit the Drawing Board in the juvenile section for step-by-step drawing tutorials. This month we are attempting to portray one of history's most beloved characters: Hello Kitty! Stop by the circulation desk for drawing supplies. When you are finished, you can either take your drawing home with you or turn it into the Information Desk to be hung on the Drawing Board. No registration required.
Which Would Win:
This month we're hoping to solve the intriguing inquiry, which would win: a baseball game, or a night at the theater? Stop by the alcove near juvenile non-fiction to cast your vote and make your voice heard.
Literary Horoscope
See what the stars have in store for you, dear reader. Full horoscopes with reading recommendations are available on the slat wall in the teen section. Appropriate for readers age 14+
Curbside Crafts:
This month, we’re using clothespins and paper to make butterflies. Kits will be available on the table outside of the Youth Services office, starting June 1st.
2025: A Year of Holidays
Located on the wall next to circulation (across from the holds shelf), this is a monthly calendar that tells you how to celebrate each day. Celebrate 10 days in a month and collect a small prize.
First Chapter Friday
This month we’re going to be previewing a book called Keep it like a secret, by John David Anderson. Join Ms. Carrie for the first chapter of this tale about responsibilities, secrets, and the bond between siblings.
This program will be available on our YouTube account starting June 6th!
