This documentary focuses on the once-forgotten achievements of Alice Guy-Blache, who directed hundreds of films in France in 1896, then built her own studio in New Jersey. Writer/director Pamela B. Green structures the film like a detective story, showing her tracking documents to flesh out the artist’s life and career.
