An introduction to this great New Orleans musician and pioneer of jazz: a virtuoso pianist, a wry vocalist, and one of the most important composers and arrangers in the history of American music. We’ll hear some of his seminal solo work, his hot band sides, and his legendary recordings for the Library of Congress. “Hello, Central? Give me Dr. Jazz!” Hosted by Paul Howe. Registration required.
