This fictional film is based on the last days of the real-life film director James Whale, who scored big hits with FRANKENSTEIN and THE INVISIBLE MAN and retired early. Featuring Ian McKellan, in a witty and ultimately moving performance; Brendan Fraser, as a likeably dim yardman; and Lynn Redgrave, in an Oscar-winning performance, as the housekeeper.
